Nathan is the original Griffith campus. With more than 13,900 students and situated in tranquil, native bushland on the edge of Toohey Forest, Nathan campus is a short walk or bus ride from our Mt Gravatt campus or a 10 minute drive from central Brisbane.
The Sir Samuel Griffith Building is the first of its kind in Australia to be powered by PV-Fuel Cell Energy System with integrated Hydrogen Storage. Grid connected power will only be used as standby.
The building will generate power from Photovoltaic Panels which will power the building with surplus energy directed to an Electrolyser to produce Hydrogen which can later be converted in a fuel cell to electric power.
MDA have a critical role in this process in determining the Green Star objectives and ESD principles to drive the sustainable initiatives for the project and ensure the lowest carbon footprint possible.

2011 Gold Coast / Northern Rivers Regional Architecture Awards
MDA Consulting Engineers are proud to be associated with the design development of Sphere, winner of Building of the Year – AIA 2011 Queensland Architecture Awards – Gold Coast / Northern Rivers.

MDA Consulting Engineers expand by opening Brisbane office

MDA Consulting Engineers have announced the opening of its newest office in Brisbane, Queensland. In the heart of Fortitude Valley, the new office will support the expanding communications and design requirements of MDA’s Brisbane based clientele.
With two offices already in operation on the Gold Coast and in Ballina, MDA’s director, Maurice Duffill, is heading up operations at the new office.
“I think it is very important to be close to the people and companies we support,” says Mr. Duffill.
“The new location provides the local presence and availability that customers require in today’s fast-paced market, and really allows us to get to know our Brisbane based clients.”
